If someone you know has been arrested in Ventura County, they will most likely be booked into one of three jails/sheriff departments (more on them in the body of this webpage).

About 35% of these arrestees are taken to the Main Jail in Ventura. This jail houses both pre-trial and sentenced male and female defendants.

If you want to bail someone out of any of the Ventura County jails, or any other jail in California, a Greg Rynerson Bail Bondsman can provide all the information and help you need. We can get the person you care about out of jail fast, because we are on call 24/7 to do so. If you get us involved quickly, we might be able to bail your loved one out of a smaller facility, police department or Sheriff’s station before they are transferred to the Main Jail, where the wait time is longer.

Meanwhile, if you are interested in learning more about the Ventura County Jails and the Sheriff’s Department that runs them, we invite you to read this website.  Or, if you like, you can talk to one of our sympathetic, licensed bondsmen directly.

Please call Greg Rynerson Bail Bonds, 24/7, at 888-224-5266 or (888) BAIL BOND.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department boasts four main divisions.  Together, they serve all of Ventura County, along with Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks.

The Detention Division is the largest.  This division covers reception, booking and classification, jail services, court room and pre-trial policing.  The largest Jail they operate is the Main Jail, which receives arrestees from a variety of law enforcement agencies.  These include the Sheriff’s Patrol, Ventura Police Department, the University Of California Police, and the CHiPs.

The Main Jail is considered to be a medium security prison that contains 900 inmates.  Most of these are arrestees who are either awaiting trial or currently in the middle of their trial. When someone is arrested, they are first taken to the Ventura Police Department or the Ventura County Main Jail for booking.  Once that is finished, they are classified according to the nature of their crime and criminal history (if they have any priors).  This is done to keep inmates with different levels of criminal activity apart from each other, both for their own safety and that of the jail staff.   The Main Jail is run by 230 safety and general employees. Bail can be posted 24/7 at this jail.

A second jail, known as the Ventura County Sheriffs Todd Road Jail, was built in 1990 to accommodate the increasing numbers of incarcerated individuals. Around 800 inmates are housed here.  It is staffed by both sworn and civilian personnel and it only houses sentenced inmates, so bail cannot be posted here.  However, these inmates have access to many educational and drug rehab programs, as well as vocational training.

The East Ventura County Jail is also operated by the Main Ventura County Jail. It is a satellite booking jail for law enforcement on the east side of Ventura County, which saves them valuable transportation time. This facility is small, having only eleven deputies and service technicians who work there, processing new arrestees and overseeing inmate workers.

When a friend or loved one is arrested in Ventura County, getting them free on bail becomes a race against a ticking-clock.  This is because many of the law enforcement agencies here don’t have on-site jails, so if a bond isn’t posted soon, the arrestee could be transported to the Ventura Main County Jail, where it takes three times as long to facilitate their release.

Thankfully, at Greg Rynerson Bail Bonds, we have bondsmen who are local to this area so we can get an arrestee out jail here, fast. Our bail bond paperwork is also easy to complete and we process it in minutes, by email, fax, or if you prefer, one of our licensed bondsmen can meet you at your home or right there at the jails.

A bondsman is always on hand to personally answer the phone, 24 hours a day, too.  We offer great payment options and our consultation is free.
